Brooke Michelle Carter is a lifestyle photographer in the Metro-Detroit area. She has grown very fond of the city of Detroit, photographing its landmarks and finding beauty in the ruins of diminished neighborhoods. Recent projects include Detroit’s abandoned Packard Automotive Plant, Comerica Park, and scenic Arizona.

Brooke grew up in the small rural town of Beavercreek, Ohio. When she was in the 6th grade, Brooke’s grandparents bought her a Polaroid 600 to take on a class trip to Washington D.C. She was hooked from that moment on; photography very quickly became a passion of hers. Brooke began her photographic education in ninth grade, taking photography as an elective; it was then that she learned valuable darkroom processing techniques that she carries over into her current photoshop skills.

In 2012, Brooke began her own business “Photography by Brooke Michelle”, and has shot numerous weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, and lifestyle shoots since. She is also a member of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), Michigan Chapter. Brooke loves traveling around the country with her husband, Robert.

Brooke and Robert currently reside in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
